A New Month!

It's November and a month of Thanksgiving (and MY BIRTHDAY :D)

I am going to post two things everyday... One that I'm thankful for and one that I feel will help lead to greater happiness!!

My Thankful for yesterday (since I missed it) : I'm thankful for my wonderful family.  With this I mean my kids (stepson included!) and husband!  (the extended will be a different thing for different reasons).  Without these 4 people, my life would be empty. Before any of these wonderful people came in my life, I felt like I was going through the motions and not sure what direction my life was suppose to take.  That all changed when I met my husband and stepson.  Then we added two more adorable kids to the mix and I know now exactly what I'm suppose to do with my life!!!  LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Yesterday's leading to greater happiness tip:  Start a hobby. People who engage in captivating activities are more satisfied with life. Lose yourself (and your worries) by sewing, writing, cooking or dancing.
With that advice, I've decided to start scrapbooking.  I have about 5 years worth to catch up on, but I plan to start doing that soon!!!  AND I've fallen in love with cooking/baking all over again!  I've even started looking at the art of canning stuff and saving money that way :)

Today's thankful:  I'm thankful and elated that I found a church home again!  After a few years of searching and looking at different houses of worship, I feel like I've found a home in the church I chose.  I started looking because I remember the friendships and connections I had in my church growing up and I didn't want my kids to miss out on that opportunity.  In the process, I found a part of me that was missing...not saying that I didn't have God in my life, but I feel truly blessed to have found a fantastic church family.

Today's great happiness tip: Get plenty of sleep. Keep a consistent sleep schedule and get 7-8 hours each night for more energy and less moodiness. I've been trying to do this consistently for about 6 weeks... it helps with overall health!  It's not always easy and doesn't always happen, but it makes a huge difference in the kind of day we have if we all get a proper amount of sleep.  Remember, we have bedtime routines for the kids, so we should start our own as adults!!!
