TupperWave Stack Cooker: Browning Ground Beef
My family purchased a side of beef recently. After browning the ground beef (the old-fashioned way- in a skillet) we all remarked independently about how lean the meat was. Each of us reported only getting about 1 Tbsp of grease off of the beef. How Healthy - YAY!
Well, upon reading over the Microwave hints handout I came across a line that I hadn't paid attention to before:
Hamburger browned in the microwave has the same amount of fat as chicken.
Now, I have pretty much blindly believed every factoid that Tupperware or other consultants have shared with me...but this one had me doubtful.
Not believing, I proceeded to make tacos for lunch and browned my beef in the Tupperwave Stack Cooker with the colander, which allows the grease to drain throughout the browning process.
(This is where I stop and tell my guests, "Here's the Gross part"....)
That same beef...from the SAME cow...that all of my family was draining 1 Tblspn of grease from....when cooked in the TupperWave Stack Cooker yielded 1 CUP of GREASE....I DUMPED OUT 1 WHOLE CUP OF GREASE....there was a bit of water in it....but most of it hardened up. 1 CUP OF GREASE@!@#$%
That "Oh So Lean" beef that my family and I had been eating contained an entire CUP of grease!!!!
All my beef is now browned in my Tupperwave Stack Cooker and I have sold hostesses on getting this with their credits...leading them to urging their friends and family members to date a party! So, for just the cost of my clogged arteries... from eating 1 CUP of grease all my life...I am increasing my sales at each party! How awesome!!!!
